International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents: Call for Associate Editors and Editors-in-Training (31 May 2023)

Go to journal home page - International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents

The International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents (IJAA) is an official journal of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC). IJAA focuses on the physical, pharmacological and clinical properties of antimicrobial agents (antivirals, antibacterials, antifungals, antiparasitics, etc), as well as signalling new trends and developments in the field through highly authoritative review articles on antimicrobial agents.

The Journal is now recruiting Associate Editors (4-year term) and Editors-in-Training (2-year term). Such positions offer great opportunities to expand your network with fellow editorial board members globally and to learn the publication dos and donts. Of note, IJAA endeavours to foster a culture that values equity, diversity (e.g., gender balance and culture background), and inclusivity, and our publishing team will provide all necessary training and ongoing support to successful candidates.

Associate Editors

Roles of an Associate Editor include:

  • Assessing the suitability of manuscripts for peer review.
  • Identifying suitable reviewers who meet the journal’s selection requirements.
  • Making publication decisions based on your own and the peer reviewers’ assessments.
  • Soliciting manuscript submissions.

If you are an expert in the field of antibacterials, antivirals, antifungals, antiparasitics, fundamental antimicrobial pharmacology, surveillance on antimicrobial resistance and One Health, we welcome you to express your interest by emailing the Editor-in-Chief Professor Jian Li (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with your latest CV by 31 May 2023. Associate Editor candidates with prior editorial experience are preferred but this is not an essential requirement.

Editors-in-Training

IJAA aspires to recognise and reward outstanding young-generation scientists in the field. For young investigators who are within 5 years post PhD, here is your chance to join the Journal’s Editorial Team as an Editor-in-Training. This role offers a unique opportunity to be introduced into the operations of the journal and gain valuable editorial experience for future career development. If you want to be considered for an Editor-in-Training position, we encourage you to send your CV to Professor Jian Li by 31 May 2023.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Editorial Team of the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents!
