COVID-19 pandemic
In light of the evolving situation around the world regarding COVID-19, we would like to update you all and provide a response to this global pandemic. After the cancellation of ECCMID, we will also will cancel our annual ISAP meeting. We will reconvene with an ISAP meeting in the very near future.
In order to provide a response to the rapidly changing COVID-19 environment:
- ISAP has joined as a member of the UB Global Virus Network Center of Excellence to seek collaborations with the GVN and offer support and collaborations in Clinical Pharmacology. https://gvn.org/. For those interested being more involved, please email Brian at btsuji(at)buffalo.edu
- For Clinicians and researchers an excellent PK/PD COVID-19 sub group has been established by EPASG PK/PD by Markus Zeitlinger, Jason Roberts, and Thomas Tangden and initiated by Kristina Nadrah from Slovenia. Markus has established a What’s-app group that many of you are already on. Please email Markus markus.zeitlinger(at)meduniwien.ac.at to be a part of this group.
- We are posting the published guidelines for COVID-19 to the ISAP webpage. These include: (i) a handbook on prevention and treatment of COVID-19 from Dr. Tinbo Liang, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, March 18. (ii) Surviving Sepsis Campaign: Guidelines on the Management of critically ill adults with COVID-19 by Society of Critical Care Medicine, March 20. (iii) WHO Clinical Management of severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) when COVID-19 diseases is suspected.
